25 Years of Beavers!!
As you are aware the Guides have recently celebrated their centenary, and a few years prior to that the Scouts had theirs, well 2011 is even more exciting. 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the Beavers
, aimed at boys and girls aged 6-8, which allowed the younger brothers and sisters of the Cubs and Scouts to show that they could have fun too.
Through Beavers children can learn skill that could help them in later life for example, the beavers have recently made sandwiches and pizzas and they attended a sleepover at the church, this sleepover was organised by the Legend Explorers and raises over £400 for the emergency charity 'Shelter Box'.
Over the past few months I have been a young leader at 1st Coggeshall Beavers and it’s made me remember all my great times when I was a Beaver some of the people that I met at Beavers are now my best friends and I would not be me if it wasn't for my time in the Scout Association, not just Beavers. I think that there will always be Scouts and Cubs, and there will always be little brothers and sisters wanting to have a go.
